Nilo Safi, Registered Clinical Counsellor

Nilo (she/her) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors, dedicated to providing a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental space for personal growth. Her approach is deeply client-centered; she firmly believes in meeting individuals exactly where they are and working together to help them reach their unique goals.

Nilo’s journey began in education. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis, followed by a Master’s in Counselling and a School Psychologist credential from California State University, East Bay. For years, she supported children and youth (ages 4–18) as a school psychologist, completing assessments, navigating complex emotional challenges, and supporting those with Autism and ADHD.

Today, Nilo’s practice has expanded to support adults, youth, and couples facing a wide range of life’s hurdles, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, life transitions, and family dynamics. To best serve her clients, she draws from a diverse toolkit of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Family Systems Therapy. She is also in training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy to help partners build deeper connections and safely navigate conflict.

Whether clients prefer the comfort of virtual sessions or the connection of in-person therapy, she is committed to supporting them every step of the way.

When she is not in the office, Nilo enjoys curling up with a good book, traveling to new destinations, and taking peaceful walks with her husband.

Nilo is fluent in Dari and English. Schedule a free phone consult with Nilo to learn more.
