Sarah Susswein is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. She is also certified in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy). Sarah is active in pursing professional development and training to keep up with current research and techniques. She has additional training in Rewind Technique, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Clinical Hypnotherapy.

Sarah currently works with individuals age 13+ from all walks with a variety of challenges, including anxiety, trauma, PTSD, self-esteem, stress, attachment wounds, communication challenges and conflicts. Being neurodivergent herself, Sarah takes a special interest in supporting neurodiverse folks navigate a neurotypical world.

Prior to becoming a counsellor, Sarah was trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach and NILD Educational Therapy for the remediation of learning disabilities. In working with children and families with learning disabilities, and being a neurodivergent parent, Sarah’s experiences lead her to pursue a career in counselling.

In addition to taking positive psychology and strength-based approaches to counselling, Sarah draws from various approaches including Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. She ensures that you are heard, and she is here to support you.

Outside of work, Sarah is an avid reader and an amateur strength athlete in the Master’s category. In the summer, she enjoys hiking and backpacking solo in the backcountry.
